4-yr-old Blom Cup winner Jub in Sale of the Rising Star

20-09-2018

The Sale of the Rising Stars, which moved from Indoor Drachten to Jumping Zwolle, will bring ten 4- and 5-yr-olds under the hammer on Friday 19 October. One of these is, in spite of his youth, already a familiar name, the Blom Cup winner Jub (Elvis Ter Putte x Vigo d’Arsouilles).

In the finals for the 4-yr-old showjumping horses at the KWPN Horse Days, Jub received the highest marks from jury members Dirk Demeersman en Roelof Bril. As a colt he was selected for and sold at Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. He proves to be a hit. This son of Elvis ter Putte has the right attitude, sharpness and scope to grow into a Grand Prix horse.

Jub may be a top-class horse in the collection of Sale of the Rising Stars, the other nine horses to go under the hammer are all peers. “During the preparations for the auction, things progressed rapidly. Indoor Drachten in January is no more and October - Jumping Zwolle - is right around the corner”, auction organiser Teus van den Brink explains.

“I already had most of the horses. I did not want to have to scratch a collection together at the last minute to reach proper numbers, because I want to feel convinced of a horse for one hundred percent. These ten horses form an abnormal collection. Some may be still a little green as they have not been trained for long, which they would have been for a longer period if sold in January, but they all have the right quality. They have been selected from a very young age for the purpose they are meant for: to jump very well.”

Sale of the Rising Stars stages its 9th edition. Of the showjumping horses that were sold in previous editions, most are now jumping at international level. Recently, five Sale of the Rising Stars horses qualified for the FEI World Breeding Jumping for Young Horses in Lanaken, including the highly successful KWPN approved stallion Gringo (by Catoki) ridden by his owner Boy-Adrian van Gelderen.
