Proceeds bronze statue at Sale of the Rising Stars to KiKa Foundation

Traditionally the Sale of the Rising Stars starts of with an opening art piece on Saturday January 21 at Indoor Drachten. Proceeds of this piece will go to a charity for childhood cancer research. For the second year in a row artist Jacqueliene van der Veer gives away a magnificent bronze statue in order to benefit the Dutch cancer foundation KiKa.

In the previous edition the bronze horse was bought for 3,500 euros by GMB founder Arend van de Pol. Recycling Kampen did an additional donation of 1,000 euros. A total of 4,500 euros could be transfer to the KWF Cancer Fund. "I love the fact that my work can be turned into a donation for charity and it is also incredibly nice to show my work to the general public," says Jacqueliene van der Veer.

The jumping horse being auctioned this time, is the Irish hunter Guinness, the multiple Dutch champion hunting with Brigitte Vonk at the Soestdijk Palace. “I'm quite curious what Brigitte think of it because she hasn’t seen the bronze stature yet. "

Brigitte Vonk has done some good purchases in previous editions of the Sale of the Rising Stars, the auction with young showjumping horses selected by Teus van den Brink. Estella W (Carthino Z) and Gradetty (Crespo VDL) are jumping very successful with the Dutch Frederique Lebon.

This year fourteen young talents are selected and the collection is described as 'better than ever'. Meanwhile the horses are tried a lot at the stables of Teus van den Brink in Nijkerkerveen. Saturday afternoon, January 21 the presentation of the horses stars at 14:30. The auction starts around 21:30 and is headed by auctioneer Koen Olaerts.
